Description
Over time.... I've collected, hoarded, made, and tweaked tons of brushes. And despite the fact that I normally only use about three brushes, I thought I'd share my brushes that I use/ have used in the past.
You are all very welcomed to try these out for yourself! -obviously-
If you try some out, I'd love to know if you liked any.
Part 1: Rascal's Sai Settings! [Part 1]

~~My personal input~~
Different from the basic Blur tool it will blend two colours together, thus the name. Perfect for gradients! I use and almost abuse this tool. You need a colour already present for it to blend- You can't blend nothing. xP
I like to use the Airbrush to make subtle lighting! I normally use this on a Luminosity or Overlay layer.
This is another brush that I greatly use and abuse. Aside from just using it to make clouds, I'll sometimes use it as a way to blend- mainly for shading. I like the painted effect it makes. : P
For all your speckle needs! I actually don't use it too much, and most of the time I pair it with my Nebula brush. Either used for starry scenes (or hair), or for adding a little texture to a picture.
Originally I got my Nebula brush from a friend! With a few extra tweaks, it's now perfect for starry scenes and fabulous hair! I like to use my Speckle brush lightly on top of this brush for maximum stars.

There's no download. All the setting I used for these brushes are from default Sai, so you can just match the settings shown and make a new brush.

hmmm... i appear to be experiencing a similar problem to Yui. I don't appear to have the textures needed for these. (which is a real annoyance since i REALLY wanted to try that nebula brush. SO PRETTY)
EDIT: ok nevermind found the problem and fixed it.

I have one of the newer versions of Sai, and if you have an older version there may be a chance you don't have it.

No problem at all. If I can ever figure out how to fix my PaintTool SAI, then these will totally come in handy ^u^

I haven't found a solution for it in over a year now. Basically, SAI's primary drivers refuse to see my tablet, and don't function when I have said tablet plugged in. And I've tried everythin I can think of to fix it, but with no luck.

Have you uninstalled Sai and your tablet; and then reinstalled Sai and Reinstalled the tablet's disk? I'm guess it's more of a tablet problem than a Sai problem if the drivers aren't reading properly. I used to have a tablet problem that sounds kinda like that. :0

I have, yes. Multiple times, in fact. And here's the funny thing: SAI would work, but ONLY if it was the trial version that I downloaded directly from the website. Every other version I've used doesn't work. Not only that, but my tablet works perfectly fine in other programs. And, if I go into the other version of SAI that I have, and force it to use the WinTAB drivers instead of SAI's normal drivers, it works with my tablet, but doesn't register pressure.

How weird! Do you have the newest version of sai, because they did a ton of bug fixes

Ah, fair enough. Can you make backgrounds invisible? That's only for the newer versions

I've never tried. The one I have says it's SAI 1.1.0, if that's any indicator

rascal4488 In reply to Tearahk [2017-03-14 00:59:59 +0000 UTC]
Yes it would be an older one then, the NEWEST is 1.2.0.6- but I believe invisible backgrounds came in at 1.2.0 which is also where lots of bugs were fixed.
I'd recommend then, trying to get a hold of a newer version. that might also be why the trials work- as more companies will offer a trail of their newest stuff.
