Cordelia Butterfly, future 8th queen of mewni, was not always set to be the heir. The original person with the claim to the throne and title of 8th queen of mewni, was Cordelia's older sister Coventina.

Despite the age gap between the sisters, they were the best of friends, both had a love for the ocean, and claimed that they would always stick together. And Cordelia believed in that claim and promise, but when it was almost time for her sister to take the throne, Coventina ran away and disappeared, leaving the young Cordelia to take on her sister's shoes and the weight they carried in little time.

Cordelia had always wanted to be a pirate, but now she was stuck with a heavy crown. Although her hope would dwindle, she would not let it disappear, and held onto the hope of being the queen to take on the seas.
