part 1 of a poem i wrote about a dream i had last night
split into two because i reached sais canvas limit

i had a dream last night that in the middle of the forest tinted blue
sitting on a bed was me and you,
you told me about your kids as we sat and looked at the stars.
you told me not to let anyone break my heart.
‘said he couldn’t hurt me no more anyway,
not when we’re miles away.
you told me to keep my chin up and my head high
not to droop down when the endgame was nigh.
when you spoke to me it felt like thought
only it wasn’t i controlling what was brought.
your hair was white and your eyes were a color i’d never seen;
your voice was smooth and your words were keen.
you warned me about the future in a roundabout manner
and said that all i need is what really matters.
when you departed from the forest tinted blue,
you told me that all i am is you.
