You can't have it both ways. If you start out trying to bandit Spike, you can only be bandits to Spike. If you were hoping to ask for donations for your rebel movement then you shouldn't have opened with threats.

The purple and lizard attire just makes me think "Purple Dragons". Also, itβs funnier because Spike is an actual purple dragon getting assaulted by a bunch of pretenders.
