For once, I wanted to make a sort of...dark fractal. Not one of the bright, shiny ones. One that would be...brooding, almost.

I wanted this to be a pure Apophysis 7x fractal, which I haven't done for a while, but I felt I needed progressive rendering so I caved and rendered it in JWildfire.

Thanks once more to SaTaNiA for his incredible gnarl tutorial, which provided some basis for this fractal. It's actually a (drastically changed!) modification of my "Phantoms" fractal: fav.me/d71ri2b
