There's a new ship in town.I so loved Rarity's dress in the Scootaloo episode, I just had to draw her in it. And AJ appeared almost by itself in this piece.

My goodness, so much Rarijack disapproval in the comment threads today! But I imagine that's because you are or were also (seemingly) well-known for drawing AppleDash fanart prior to this. Something that I imagine would cause some dissension in the ranks.
Whatever the case may be though, I know that I myself have been a Rarijack fan virtually from the time I first joined the fandom, and as time has gone on I've watched it go from being regarded as something of a crack-pairing (because these two are supposedly too different to work, even though they actually have a lot in common where it counts and as recent season three episodes have proven they actually do get along very well and are close friends) to being a relatively popular and well-respected ship, which has been extremely interesting for me to witness! And whether or not it's a pairing you actively support, you've definitely done a lovely job with this picture; you've captured their surface differences beautifully with Applejack's grubbiness and rugged leather chaps to Rarity's impeccably-groomed appearance, even down to her feminine poise in the way she's leaning against the railing (I really loved that dress in the Scootaloo outfit as well, by the way). I love that contrast between them and find it very cute myself, so kudos to you on a really lovely piece of art, dear!

But yeah, some of my watchers and friends are die-hard Appledasher, so the disapproval kinda make sense. And I'm sure most of them are only jesting because they know how much I love Appledash.
I actually had a thing for Rarijack since the very beginning of the show, especially episode 3. It wasn't really a popular ship back then, like you say, but I always found them alluring together. Then Appledash entered my mind and I kinda forgot about Rarijack. At least until I discovered your lovely artwork. You're definitely one of the reasons that fueled my interest in Rarijack. And that's why this comment from you means so much to me. I always adored how you drew those two together. So full of emotion and capturing their beauty perfectly.
And at ever since the ending of Episode 2 of Season 3 this ship is at least on the same level as Appledash for me. (But don't let my watchers know.
So for me it also definitely turned from something of a crack-pairing to something more serious and beautiful.

I do however know how the scales can be balanced... seeing AppleDash from you! (i've always wanted to see that happen XD)

And secondly, while I don't have anything against AppleDash and I do appreciate the sentiments, I'm afraid that the chances of me ever drawing it myself are probably quite slim... I am and always have been immensely loyal to my ship you see and honestly, I don't know if I'm even physically capable of drawing Rarity or Applejack with anypony but each other at this point (it's probably too ingrained in the muscle memory of my drawing hand or something...

I'm sorry dear. Just as you're never going to write a Rarijack fanfiction, I'm sure, I could and would not ever even consider betraying my beloved ship! Drawing anything else would just feel wrong to me and I couldn't agree with it. Honestly, even if someone tried to commission me to do so someday, my heart just wouldn't allow it and I'm afraid I would have to respectfully decline. Sorry!
