I had a hard time trying to type up an explanation of my concept for this, and that fact pretty much sums up what I'm trying to say. My art speaks better than I can and expresses what I hesitate to express off paper.

Why the photo was traced:
To make my concept as clear as possible I wanted it to be easy for the viewer to distinguish "real" me from "drawing" of me. While I could have manipulated a photo, I'm not very comfortable with that medium and didn't think I'd like the results. This just seemed simpler to me. Frankly, I'm not ashamed that I traced a photo because I feel my reasons were justifiable. Also, while you may disagree, I see this as a portrayal of my ideas as an artist, not necessarily my technique. Regardless, you are free to judge both. This is just how I feel about it.
