Description
A plant/creature from another planet. Similarly to the Red Algae , it has a red pigment that absorbs energy and it also secretes a shell of carbonate that forms its interesting structure.---
I'm trying to put new stuff here more often and consistently. To do that I'm giving myself less time to make new renders. Sometimes I take weeks on a single render and the result isn't that great either. So please be patient if any new stuff is crappy or substandard. Hopefully I'll get the hang of making art more quickly.
Tech Specs:
* Modeled in Blender 2.45 using array modifier.
* Materials include procedural textures and subsurface scattering.
* All effects done using Blender composition nodes.

Mais uma vez obrigado!
Neste aqui eu quis brincar com o array modifier e acabou saindo essas formas legais.
Usei SSS sim, foi bem poquinho, mas jΓ‘ deu pra dar um aspecto mais orgΓ’nico.

For the shape, I've used blender's array modifier. Blender's manual has something similar .
As for the material, I've only used procedural textures, in this case "voronoi" , and a small amount of subsurface scattering, to give it a little bit of life.
Hopefully this answered your question.

I like shapes of that "Thing" but matrerials ain't as good I think
It look like a WIP 2 me, U could do better

Thanks for the input.
I did use a normal map on the ground (no color map actually) but somehow I didn't managed to make it pop out.
As I said above, I'm trying to limit the time I spend on a single render since I could keep tweaking this for weeks, without making it much better. But I'll apply your suggestions on my next renders.
