Lol, you call that critique-ing (ing?), that's just me complaining! But yes, I really like this piece. It's going up on me favourites list, matey, with the rest of me Lucky Charms. You know, when you think about it...a pirate leprechaun would be a very scary thing indeed...
But moving on...this piece, I think, intruiges(sp?) me so much is that this piece is simple at first glance ("Hey. An hourglass-shaped toy. And light. Hooray.") but it has complexities that go beyond people's first impressions of it (at least mine, I'm not speaking for other people. Well, I am, but don't expect my opinions to be right ). And about the floor being pink--is it tinted orangey, as well? Because I can see how it would cancel out the greenish light, but the blue I don't think would look quite as good..or maybe I'm just dense. Yeah. I think that's it.

I apologize for this not being 'advanced critique' but that picture gave me a headache. The splitting of the shadow (Did you use iridescent lighting? It looks like fluorescent, but that wouldn't split as strangely.) into the three different colours was an immediate headache; the colours look as if they're moving on a different plane from the red hourglass shape.
Wait. Upon further inspection, it looks as if you've designed this in a 'Photoshop' sort of graphics program (which, incidentally, I've never learned to use).
So, I've made a fool of myself and given myself a headache.
The world must be having a good day.
I like this, though, it's interesting. Simple and yet complex to the eye. (And the brain--ouch!)
