I've got a friend here on DA with a thoughtprovoking signature. Everytime she leaves me a message, that signature makes my old senile brain go into overdrive trying to figure out what I think of it. It goes: "to be nobody but yourself, in a world which is doing it's best, night and day, to make you everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." It was written by someone called Cummings. My experience is a bit different. As I've grown older I've become less preoccupied of what people think of me (and I've been really obsessed about my image
). Keeping up appearances trying to be always someone else or just the same lighthearted guy as always is too exhausting. Time just peels of one layer of pretence after the other (unless you fight it ofcourse). The hardest battle you could ever possibly fight is living the life you're expected to live. I'm moving towards a simpler life, in which I'll ask what I really need, say what I really want to say, do whatever I please, and fuck all who can't handle me.Thanks Lani

Since the first time I saw this place in your photographs ("Where I stand") I've fallen in love with it and I find myself visiting it in dreams. You create so many worlds with one image, and I love that, those endless possibilities. Theres so much I want to say but I find myself speechless. Your work always does that to me. Very cool description.I have one minor gripe, the shadow of the hat on the ground looks unnatural. Other than that, at times my warped mind sees a UFO approaching a future abductee.

I think it comes with age.. I have noticed the same change happening in myself and to my relationship with the world outside me. I think it has happened slowly during last couple of years. And I think it's definitely a good change 
About the picture than.. The light is beautiful. It draws the outlines of the model beautifully. And in the light of the description I really love the hat flying away. Or to me it seems like that the hat has flown of the model's head and is being left behind - like old pretences, or some image that wasn't really us. Beautiful thoughtfull work.

Being tre to ourselves is the only way to really live. Knowing what we want in our hearts and follow that feeling even if everyone is teling us it is wrong makes us strong and also makes us happy. Believe me Í have tried, eventhough it doesnt always feel like that.
