Description
a mile south of the lighthouse on my previous photo, you'll find a 16'th century version of a lighthouse (the structure at the lower right). Big hanging baskets of burning wood would serve as a landmark for sailors of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Its still lit once a year, on midsommer's eve, to celebrate the light.Related content

that one cloud just brings your eyes to it and Stands out so much and that 16th century light house you talk about looks like a trebuchet colors are simple the photo is almost black&white but the tones bring you into the mood of the picture and you just wanna go to sleep in the Peace and Beauty great work man

It is too early for speculation into this piece, so I just have a question:
Are clouds really that big where you are, or is it a magic touch?

George mate, I've never thought about it. I think clouds have been globally harmonized, same size everywhere. Its not a magic touch anyway, if anything they were probably bigger than what it looks like on this photo, cuz it was shot on 12mm.

well, there's one thing i hate about what is happening with pics of intense sky while being manipulated.. it's high noise almost looking like pixelation. sadly, it's visible here too. but it's consolating for me in a way..

I'm going to divide my comment on this photo into two parts.
First of all, the tone and contrast here is wonderful. Really top rate. I love the way you've burned/dodged the clouds. It makes it all the more dramatic and it works nicely with the darkness that you carry off so well in your photos. I wonder how many of the favs that this piece has received so far is for that accomplishment alone.
As brilliant as the tones are, compositionally, this photo leaves me a bit unsatiated. When I viewed it, I didn't see anything in the photo that could hold my attention very long (after admiring the lovely tones). There's that oil drill (?) on the right side, but it really doesn't do much for me. Most of the initially garnered attention was magnetized by that one cloud near the center of the photo. As nice and dramatic as that cloud is, I found myself hoping (as I viewed the picture) that there was something else to focus on. Anyway, I'm probably boring you ad nauseum at the this point, so I'll wrap up: This piece illustrates your mastery of lovely tones (

Wow, what a dramatic image!
The lighthouse is amazing - it's so different to the modern ones and is a very nice touch.
The cloud formation on the left of the photograph also lends itself to the title along with the lighthouse - it looks like the sky is ablaze.
