Description
Becoming the SnakeThe story goes that change is inevitable.
So it must be that having eaten dust and
rotting flesh, the snake comes to know in
his own skin the secrets of change.
Through the deceit of death I grow wise in
the illusions of time. I change, I grow
beyond myself, leaving the papery sheath
that once was what I was. I live alone and
make my changes in secret. I know the smell
of fear, of death, of innnocence. I float
among lilies. I rest in shadows. I lick the
wisdom of air and dust. I know the earth,
sky and men. I wrap myself around the legs
of life. By the enmity of others I learn
empathy with all creatures. I lie down in
darkness and learn the art of subtlety.
I rear and strike in surprise. I know the
limits of earth. In my belly I know this
is all one place. I leave but a meandering
trail in the dust, a graceful passage like
the tracings of time. I lie down and change
and rise and grow old and lie down and change
and rise. I demand neither fear nor pity.
I know what you can not see. It is not
pride that keeps me solitary. In your
hands the honey of my mouth turns to poison.
It is mere survival -- yours and mine.
Change is eternity.

Ny god, beatiful. The eyes look almost as stormy as the sky.
I actuially have the Egyptian Book of the Dead, however in my house, it is forbidden to read. Talkabout a worry wart of a mother *rolls eyes*. Beautiful, Might I ask of a location in wich you took this wondrous picture?

I always find myself favoriting more than one of people's photographs at a time. No, not always actually. Just when someone I find with definite talent I can't help but favorite their photographs. Your photos are truley inspirational.
Great colors here, as well as the cropping. I love how he's kind of peaking over the border, with a fantastic background also.

Great photo, with the birds taking off and the reflection against the water it is cinematic. I'm not one for photography but this one really caught my eye. The guy in the cap reminds me of the Blair-Witch Project though.

You've really created a wonderfully moody and mystical atmosphere. This is really showing all the cynics how you need skill to do proper post production work and how in the right hands the results can be inspirational, beautiful, original and artistic to the core. Haunting, gorgeous imagery.

Change is eternity as eternity never changes.
Deep sky, deep feeling, deep eyes. Wonderfull and mystic composition.
But who was there at first ? The sky, the tree or the eyes ? Who didn't change ?
I highly appreciate your work, Raun.

oh k then how have u achieved such an effect? (as in making the face so glowy) burning and dodging? I swear 'dawn', '8am' and 'noon' are the same shot put with different photoshopping, tho noon's clouds look different..
is the fog in dawn airbrushed or real?
*head explodes*

raun In reply to pixelprophet [2004-03-09 12:04:32 +0000 UTC]
dont explode please!! Yeah burn/dodging on the face plus a shitload of neatimage. The fog was not airbrushed, it's a skyphoto tweaked to look like fog (similar to what I did in the 'beneath the remains' photo & tutorial).
