its so beautiful, yet it harbors such a dark message. To me that is that although you may encounter people who will help you live, nobody can help you die.

But no man can help you die" - Ella Wheeler Wilcox "Solitude"

Throughout life, people walk their paths, and occasionaly, the paths of two people meet. Sometimes, this meeting lasts for a lifetime, sometimes, for but a day. But always, nomatter how long the paths run together, they will eventually part in death.
This is a wonderful piece. In such simplicity it has such meaning and power. I love the varied shadows. Well done!

This is true genius. There aren't words to describe these kinds of pictures. This really, if you think about, could represent relationships. The people are walking through the desert, then they meet and leave each other. This could be a plain short relationship or marriage and spending the rest of your life together. Then when one of you passes away your lines start moving away. This is brilliance.

awesome pic
i like how the 2 diff sets of footprints merge to one in the middle and then seperate again.
but..if there's 2 sets of footprints in the end, wouldn't that mean 2 diff people were there, dying together & not alone?

wow. finally a DTF and Featured Deviation which deserves the title in my opinion.
I can really see ppl walking, lives not connected to each other, join at some point in their life.... walking together, then parting toward the end.
All that in a beautifull still image, with so much expression..
only flaw is the color quality.... you can especially see it in the lighter regions of the footprints

The title really does pull out that Donnie Darko quote "Every living creature on this earth dies alone." The only thing I would question would be the direction of the footprints, which itself is a minor detail when the message itself is so strong. The close footprints kinda remind me of childhood, where everyone is really close and you make a lot of friends because they're all right there, you get even closer to a few, and then . . sometimes without realization, you drift apart. But even so, this message I can see with the direction now, but that final drift isn't as evident.
Regardless, it's such a strong message especially in such a vacant location. The most fitting response I can think of also pulls from Donnie Darko: "I don't want to die alone."

I do not agree with the message, however the photograph is beautifully genius. I love the texture and wind patterns in the sand, and of course how the footprints break apart. The colors are perfect and you cropped it nicely. I like the shading which denotes that it goes slightly downhill as the footsteps progress. This is a superb shot.

Amazing shot, man. I love the way the tracks tell a story so effortlessly. Yeah, it really makes you wonder what was said as they came together and left.
I love the way the sand's ripples flood around the tracks, too. The way the wind almost tells the story of how long has passed and how easily an impression is made by the people.
Or something. Tired. Digress. Sorry.
+fav.
