this is an interesting piece. I think it is crazy how you got that one tree to be the subject and it is surrounded by other trees and a busy foreground. It is a powerful shot.

Beautiful shot. I love your great use of backlighting in this. I am finding it hard to explain the message I am getting out of this photo. It relates to many of us personally. We all have our baggage. how we choose to carry it is up to us. This tree, even though it is deformed and misshapen, being dwarved by the other taller seemingly stronger trees, is living life up to it's fullest potential. where others may be crushed and wouldn't be able to handle this life, this tree really shines.

The colors in this just blow me away. There's something just...enchanted, even surreal about this capture. In a way, the details are such that I can almost place myself at the scene, but at the same time the entire thing is so majestic and imposing it feels like a window into another world I can't get into. Indeed, if you shine like that you have nothing to fear.
