Oi, my first ever flash
Discovered by chance that imageready supports .SWF exporting 
So this is what I plan to have as an intro to my nonexisting website. When I made the images years ago, this is what I had in mind, but couldnt carry out (in .gif I think the file would go well beyond 5 mb's and my pc crashes if I as much as look at a .gif with more than 300 frames in it). Well, its late.. morning actually..

edit friday night: Well, I think I've finally figured out why I couldnt make proper smooth transitions. Appearantly .swf files needs at least 0,1 second framedelay in order to update layers correctly. So I've reuploaded the file, now 5 times larger I'm affraid (but it sure as hell looks better). Also tried to fix the speed of the text transitions, at least now it works fine for me

This is great. I'd suggest some music by Sigur Ros or Explosions in the Sky. It may slow down your computer, but it would be awesome. This reminds me of Ashes and Snow. Look it up on google. I'm sure you'll appreciate it.

Been a follower of your work for a while now. This is an awesome thing you've done. The words, do they resonate with your own experiences or just fit the peice?
You might try resampling the rate which could give you words more time without too much effort on your part.
Keep up the great work! You inspire more than you know!

This is truly, incredibly AWESOME! Personally, I could read the text just fine, but then again I am a fast reader.
Although you may have possibly did this and I have not found it, but I second Aspirant-Artiste request for a tutorial (at least the basics to get started with) on how to do this.
Or perhaps you know of a site online where this is available. This piece is very inspiring, and it has caused my mind to go berserk on ideas for it, lol.
I have no doubt that you are very busy, but would be most appreciative if you knew of a place to get started. By the way, I am a newbie to all things creative on a PC, so apologies for any goofy questions

Ooooh, wow, that animation was really a stunner for me. I know nothing about making it, but this seemed flawless and beautifully thought out and pulled off to me. The images themselves were fabulous, and the combination of words and animation made it a real treat to watch.

He used Adobe ImageReady, but Macromedia Flash can also be used for this
I'm afraid neither software is free though, however, you can get a trial version of Macrpmedia Flash from the internet

I guess i've lobed in after your changes Raun and I am pretty amazed.. the text and images as so coherent and mystical and the fading was great.. couldn't wait to see what the scene would do next. I'd love to try it against different music themes.. that could keep me occupied all night! I;m a fast read and I just made it on some of the longer texts. It was also interesting trying to predict where the text would fade in next heheh!
I'd suggest a shorter one for the website but install this in a gallery somewhere on a big plasma screen and blow a few minds.. Bravo!

a very beautiful intro Raun!
a little suggestion from my experience with flash: it's not the framerate... it's the power of the pc on which you're looking at this movie. The more powerful the pc, the faster the movie will be. If you use 2 or more transitions (both images and text) at the same time that particular piece of the movie will apper slower on any machine...

At first I thought "Hey, this bloke's doing what he saw on that website. Get back down there!" But what you've done here is really (forgive the cinematic superlative)... spellbinding. At the end I was like, "Way to go Raun-san!" I'm inspired.
