Description
"A foreigner from fielded landsWith prairie thoughts of desert sands
Who'd never seen a wood of oak,
He came to visit forest folk.
And in surprise he only sees
The mighty oaks and cypress knees,
Begged, "Someone will you help me please?
I cannot see the forest for the trees."
So I, a common forest folk,
Rustled in the leaves and spoke,
"Don't look into the wooden faces
Searching for the forest places;
Wander with the scented breeze,
Past mighty oaks and cypress knees,
Forget the timber your eye sees;
Our forest is the space between the trees." - Thomas James Allen

the wrond aspect of this image is that the rays make the imaginary sun to look closer, like it's just behind the trees. so they should be on fire, and the whole planet also.

WOW!
This has a creepy feeling to it!
Almost like a ghost running wild ... waiting to catch me.
LOVELY composition and concept.
I love the 'wind' thing from PS ... it makes it all come alive!

This is great!!!!!! What made you think of this? Is the model you or someone else? I come up with things in a thought process...and was wondering what yours may have been on this.
I really like this.

i love this. tails/top hat/gloves are awesome on their own, but walking through the forest in black and white with the light shining like that.. fantastic.

RAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ME loves it. i love the walk of the man. and the oddness of him being in that forest. and the beauty of the rays.
sorry to hear of your "rippedness"
i don't think my work is good enough to rip.
im not even exactly sure what that means.
ok
you are an amazing photographer and artist.
when i get a good camera, i will strive to make my art as good as yours.
well done.
awesome

thanks for your comment I'm glad you liked the photo. My camera is not that great though. It's a 3.1 mp compact camera, outdated and its bigbrother (the nikon cp4500) can be bought for less than 400$ nowadays. I guess the secret is careful postprocessing.

I like this one a lot, just by looking at the picture I could see it was a good shot, not only for the beauty of looking at it. When you read the poem, it puts a whole new perspective into place.

Cool! I just love that guys tux! Hope his shiny shoes won't get too tarnished walking in the forest... Anyway beautiful picture! I really like how the bright light through the trees has a hint of yellow as if the person is under a spotlight and is being observed.

Wow, excellent work of art. The subject looks totally out of place in that forest, which is perfect for your title. Great lighting as well.

MAGICAL!
I love this series of shots with the top hat man in the forest penetrated by the sun.
Very obscure.. that's what this image looks like to me, something conceptually obscure...
Like a segment of a very intertwined, deep-reaching dream... He is the guide.

lovely and fitting quote. the softness of the sunbeams coming through the trees is quite striking given the dramatic darkness elswhere.
