It can also be done on openCanvas, coming from one who uses it. It just takes practice.

Those general brushes... What are those settings and program? I haven't found one that changes brightness on pressure. Unless you just switched brightness somehow, like via keystroke or just manually selected a new color. I don't think the latter is likely, the strokes are too smooth! Can you tell me please?

it's photoshop, brush opacity set to pen pressure so if you press lightly it's semi transparent

do you use mouse or the pensil with the tablet thing? couse pen pressure with a mouse is hard to come by

I use tablet, I guess with mouse you can just change opacity to 50% or something

sorry I'm not the actual artist but I can tell from the second step this is most likely photoshop !
and by brightness on pressure they mean using a light color and coloring over dark parts gently.

Thank you sooo much. I always have trouble with rocks and mountains and it's really hard to find a helpful tutorial for it. This ones very clear to understand. Can't wait to try this out
