While the various armies of the Union don't necissarily have a unified strategy or organization, the central three, Arcea, White Forest and Fusha, share in largely relying on a combination of an elite reaction force backed by a far larger volunteer militia formed from the various cooperativist farms, factories and universities. While none of these countries widely promote military service, many usually sign up to at least be part of the militias. Militia service doesn't usually require much of a time sacrifice, usually including little more than weekly marksmanship training and the occasional courses on skills and tactics. All of this is tested yearly during the Sentinel Wargames, where militia units join their professional counterparts in a two week long intensive wargame.
