Description
A map of Ferelden along with names and approximate distance between places. It's not perfect, but I think it helps give a better idea of how long it takes to get from place to place.
EDIT: Ostagar has been fixed.
As for the distance, if you can find it, there is an official map of Ferelden out there that states 1 inch equals 18 miles.
FYI the average human walks 2.5-3 miles an hour.
Horses walk about 8 mph and can run up to 35 mph for short duration's.
Lastly, I am not going to argue with everyone on the distance. I made this map to help people with writing, roleplaying, and whatever, using the details that I BELIEVE to be accurate. Please feel free to make your own decisions, but have the same respect and do not bash me for mine.

This is a tremendous work that simply begs for deserved recognition. How would you explain the amount of time needed to get back to Denerim (from Redcliffe, so through the supposedly well-maintained Imperial Highway) for the final battle? I am still having problems figuring out a viable explanation.

Any idea what the distance is between the Circle Tower and Orzammar might be? It's not on the list.
Thanks for doing this, by the way. It really is a great help in plotting out the amount of time it takes to get from one place to another, which I find especially useful for writing fanfiction.

Denerim to Lake Calenhad Docks- 252 miles
Denerim to Circle Tower- 270 miles
Denerim to Gates of Orzammar- 351
From the Docks it would be about 99 miles
From the Circle Tower it would be about 81 miles.

is that road distance, or "as the crow flies". I would think Orzammar would have a few dozen extra tacked on as the pass no doubt weaves an ass ton through the mountains.

yeah I think that's why it's 27 miles from Gherlen's pass to the gates of Orzammar. Obviously this is just one interpretation though, no need to take it as law

They said in the rpg books set 1 player guide i believe that Fereldan is about the size of Ireland in territory.

that's a problem I'm seeing. Several different official maps have been published with different distance measurements. I just went with one and ran with it.

Interesting. My frustration while writing my fic has been time/distance. I've been using the map from the DA books though. There's a few minor differences.

how many hundreds of miles?? how big are you picturing ferelden? (or how big is your source picturing ferelden?) i mean, comparable to what country/continent on earth?
do you have a translation from miles to days/weeks of walking and riding? (presuming a horse, or at least a cart?)

ps: of paramount importance... how long would the 'forced march' from redcliffe to denerim actually take?

there is an official map of Ferelden out there that states 1 inch equals 18 miles, so if the army marched at 2.5 mph for ten hours a day, it would take almost 12 days to reach Denerim from Redcliffe Castle

Is that the Thedas map on the dragonage.wikia, with full size? And where is it stated?
Also, Dagna in Orzammar said that it takes "two weeks and four days minimum to make the journey to the Circle Tower". I sort of use that statement to count the days it takes to travel around.
Also, found this: [link] (scroll down to Eurothedas map lol)

pretty good but somethings are labeled wrong where the gollem image is is not Ostagar or flemeth's hut. Ostagar is the tiny pic of a wall next to the teepee which is flemeth's hut.
belive me i played this game like 1000 times.

Ooh cool, apart from Ostagar not being right.
It kinda makes me feel bad about how much I complained that my party took too long travelling xD

Where the gollem image is... That isn't Ostagar.... It's where Flemeth's hut is on the map (it borders the Kocari Wilds)
