Description This Photo is taken from the Bayview O-Train station in Ottawa, ON, Canada.

I really don't know how to describe the feeling I had. But it I've been taking this train almost every single day and watch the same view everytime I cross the bridge. Therefore I though about taking this shot in HDR setting. After fixing the image I had this feeling of "reminiscence" it's like the only word I can think of when I see the photo. I hope it's reachable somehow through the photo.

A criticism is welcomed in any shapes. Comments and questions.

Another reason why I have done this photo is because one of the admin claimed that my work is novice. And I have somehow felt I'm more. So if you think this is a really good stuff, please recommend to daily deviation and help me achieve ny first.

Thank you all

The composition is great but isn't it a little bit too much HDR ?
This is only a constructive critic, no harm in it

Thanks first for not being harmed by my critic.
For me your picture is a little bit too much "dynamic" It means for example kind of a halo around the forms. For me it's weird to see at the same time shadows and light in there. I mean without a little bit less HDR tone your picture would look more realistic.
I'm not totally against the HDR, I even use it sometimes, but for me it is too much on this picture. You have too much contrast between light and darkness on the same areas. The sky also, with the clouds, are surreal for me.
The roof of the train is very white comparing to the cloudy sky.
Once again it's only a personnal point of view. No harm in it.

I understand now your aim in this picture.
I'm glad we could have this discussion about the HDR's use.
Thanks

Hey no worries, lol. I'm finding more and more there's fewer and fewer photos that really grab me. This definitely does, and the more I look at it the more appealing I find it. I just now, looking again, noticed how the train's dramatically cast shadow was perfectly captured. There's a very vast open feel to this. I look forward to seeing more of yer work.

I like it, it stands out among much railway photography here on dA and it has an eye-catching mood.

What might explain the "novice" comment is the sloping horizon, that's even emphasized by the cloud pattern above it. It's something that many beginning photographers allow in their pictures but makes people who are more experienced ask: why? Why not setting it straight?! Because if you're so involved in technology that you're doing HDR, setting a horizon straight should be the easiest thing.
It also puzzles me because the sleepers of the rails look straight. Is it in fact the rails that are not horizontal? Or did you do a panorama or a strange crop that created distortion?
Another issue is the framing. In the foreground there's a light sticking into the frame, but it'sbottom part is missing. It's okay to have minor objects half in or out the frame, but for my taste it's a bit too prominent. In fact, it would have been better if the bottom of the frame would have been halfway between the yellow thingy and the three-light signal (don't know the Canadian English word for it), or halfway between the signal and the train. That way, either the train would have been more prominent, or you could have had more of that interesting sky and a fair bit of the tracks in front of the train.
Some people could also have an issue with the graininess or the noise in the sky, due to the HDR, but I leave that to them. With some effort, it's possible to fix that, and you don't see it unless you watch the picture at download size.

Possibly you could fix the distortion and the horizon with the deformation tool and you could certainly crop away the unnecessary elements in the foreground. But as you're passing that spot everyday everyday, cross your thumbs for another beautiful sky and wait for it - and then re-take the shot with the perfect framing and the horizon level. If the train is tilting slightly, that's no big deal - it might add a sense of speed. There are many very talented photographers who return time and again to a spot because they're not satisfied with their results so far.
