Description Sycamore Tree Valley
color study
6X7 pastel on paper.

This is the second pastel study for Sycamore Tree Valley. The first of these color studies I have placed under Scraps. Not because it is not good enough to be in the gallery, but I just didn't want two submissions that look so similar side by side on my gallery.
It has been quite a while since I have used pastels, and therefore had forgotten how messy they can be. LOL Especially when you forget your blending tools (in this case, they were my fingers) already are stained with blue and you are blending yellows.

The inspiration for this came from a picture, by the same title, by . [link] This talented deviant's gallery has, in my opinion, some of the most beautiful landscape photographs. So with her permission I will be capturing some of her wonderful photos on canvas. Sycamore Tree Valley being the first.

Well, you just have to start using them. It took me several tries to get to where I am now.
Believe me, you'll have fun learning how to use them.

Ill have to do it. We have a local artist {kevin Beck] who does pastels. They are so gorgeous. The colors are so rich and vibrant. He does wonderful landscapes.

I always appreciate hearing others artist comments and suggestions.
Suggestions are great when they are given as critique and not cretisism. I had to block and remove a deviant due to his negative and ignorant comments.

Very nice, I think sycamore trees are so nice, they have such lovely bark and twisty branches, we have a lot of sycamore trees in our area, some are so huge.

I really am grateful that I live where I do, there is so much to see and do, I'm only about 1or 2 hours from at least 8 lakes one is only 6 miles from my house. Life is good.

Hase un tiempo que no abia usado pastels, so tuve anas pequeñas difilcutades. Bueno, salio un poco bien. Unque no tan bien como las pinturas tuyas. You are the master at using pastels.
