"I am Dying...."

That was what was repeating over and over in Jela's thoughts. Nothing else seemned to matter. The cold earth beneath her, the howls of the wolves. The sounds of the Orphans going through her meager belongings, dividing the spoils. None of that meant anything.

The only thing that mattered was the liquid she felt dripping from her wounds where they had shot her with cross bolts. The rattling that was growing more pronounced with each breath she took. THe weak coughs that filled her mouth with the taste of blood. Death was coming for her.

She was a clone, not that it mattered, Master's selfishness destroyed any possibility that she would be brought back. She had heard of the Dam falling a few months back, of Alec Master's last deed of cruelty. Now she was suffering for it. She closed her eyes a moment, tears welling up as the ultimate regret flooded through her.

"Drax.. Im sorry...."

She never got to tell him she loved him. How much she needed him, and now it was too late. Killed over a half broken atv and a bag full of cloths and a meager few chips to split amoung them. But she understood, in these times you did what you had to. Which usually meant killing or stealing to survive. She had done it many times, she couldnt fault them.

She looked up at the stars feeling the cold seep into her bones. She was having more and more trouble drawing in air. She closed her eyes when a shadow fell over her. She looked up to see one of the Orphans staring at her, no remorse in his eyes. He reached down, snatching her necklace from her but that wasnt all. She let out a weak gurgled cry of pain as he ripped the two cross bolts from her chest. She heard them leave, heard the engines drive off. She simply stared up at the sky, feeling it all fade. Watching it all fade. As she felt her breath leave her a last time, even the stars faded into nothing.
