A new scanned version, a little dark with some strange lines coming down the right side but... I digress. So I haven't put much up in the last month or so, mainly because I'm visiting a tiny little town with no large scanning options. So heres a large piece I've been working on since being here in Alberta. Its all about the language of symbols in a illuminating or (for lack of a better word) spiritual sense. I wont get into the symbolism, I think it is fun to have subjectivity with this one. My laptop crashed and I used a reference model so I cant remember who she was, but I'll find her when I put up the scanned image, she needs some proper crediting.Related content

WOW! Man... this is really wonderful. Easily one of your best. Looks like maybe you used artist's markers, and may I say you have quite a finesse with them (I tried them once and it was a disaster). The colors are beautiful, as someone already said.
So, a candle to light the dark staircase, and a key for the door? The 3-dimensional shape and those almost glowing fish make me ponder - I'm glad it occured to me to just drop in for the yuck of it, I'll be looking at this piece for a while to come...

Jay, I love it. This one draws you in by her making eye contact, very much unlike your other pictures where you usually feel to be an onlooker priviliged to see such beauty where here you seem to be expected! Will be waiting on the proper scan! Thanks for the update!

Thanks girl, Yeah, I tried to work it so that when you look into her eyes (which I desperately tried to make warm and welcoming) the surrounding imagery would blend in and frame her. And your comments are always appreciated here really, thank you.

Reminds me of my current research into alternative healing therapies which I'm hoping to include in my art (in the near furture). It's kind of Shamanistic, this piece, and I absolutely adore the fishy border with the entwining branches. I look forward to when you are able to upload a better photo or scan of it.

The alternative healing, is a method I am experimenting with in my own personal life, and thought I would at least attempt to apply it to my art. Empaths [link] , Holistic healing such as Shamanism [link] Also, music therapy.
Several years ago I begun studies into Shamanism - even back then that was supposed to be my goal for creating art, particularly after discovering Sussan Seddon Boulet's [link] artwork.
At the moment I am trying to re-discover my traditional art, seeing others painting and drawing I yearn to return to my old art ways.
I notice your own art is heavily influenced by the Celts too.

Man, you are truly extremely talented! This is such a mesmerising image. So much power and feeling. It's amazing how you have got the models skin to radiate energy and light - 'illuminating' it surely is!! The image IS bursting with symbolism - can stare at it for ages and each time see something new!
