Smaugs born with this trait exhibit beautiful iridescent scales, this iridescense can expand to the rest of the body as time passes by. These spots can affect any bones and there have even been cases in which it's expanded to the teeth and tongue.
This trait doesn't affect the Smaugs health in any way, but it's known that those who bear this trait tend have cockier personalities, enjoying showing off and being sassy; Their confident and charismatic behaviours with the addition of their striking appearances make them highly priced as models, actors, hosts and other important roles involving entertainment.
