Baby, don't fear the ReaperPuss, take his tentacle in your hand.......Death is an octopus, yes it's true. No matter how far you swim you can't escape his ghostly puckers.
had this idea for awhile, so naturally here it is, in all its B&W glory, actually the photo I took is color, and I did a true BW version in PS, but the color version is so much richer I think, but yeah painted entirely in black, white, and greys(8 in all). Also more skulls, I know wierd right. Not really on a morbid kick or anything, just like drawing skulls is all

The skulls are so realistic which is a sharp contrast to the main subject himself. No less, I love the detailing you gave to this piece and the monotone really fits. I don't think it could have worked any other way! The hood and the look in his eye give away the right impression, and the tentacles (though unexpected) really add to the intricacy and wonder of the piece! Such a unique idea and beautifully created

This is hot! I love the composition, I know from horrible horrible experience that it's difficult to get tentacles to look believable and at the same time stylistically sound. What really impresses me is that you painted the piece in greyscale and yet it doesn't look "muddy" - very clean and well-contrasted. I love it!

Thank you, I appreciate it. Yeah, I was surprised how good it came out. I've been drawing a lot of octopus stuff recently so I guess I'm getting more natural at tentacles. And the greys I painted this with each come from their own tube, Golden's neutral-gray series, and yeah it was totally fun to do too. I'm working on a series of Octo-portraits like this one so I definitely see more tentacles in my future 
But yeah, thanks man, I totally love the feedback.
