Since me and my friend has been playing the remake of Spyro recently she suggested that I should draw a crossover with our favorite blue hedgie and purple dragon. I liked how it turned out and since it's the first pic of the year I decided to put some extra effort into this when coloring and shading, aaand I ended up working on this the entire month =w=" Heh, don't think I'll be doing this level of detail every time I draw, but it was fun trying it out.They're both good guys who share similar attitudes and personality so I think they'd get along (eventually), but both of them like to collect gems in their respective games so either one could easily mistake it for their own if their paths should cross.
Who does it belong to though? Depends who is visiting who's game/dimension
Spyro: Not so fast, Blue. I saw it first
Sonic: Sorry, but that emerald belongs to me and it's not my fault you were too slow to pick it up
Spyro: Are you color blind? That's a ruby and it's mine

This picture looks awesome to me, those together. I think those two are well-created characters, Sonic was created before my birth and Spyro after me. These two look cool and awesome in this picture. Here's great and I like to play those them. I have a whole series of Spyro and Sonic, but with the PlayStation2 console I play those original Sonic games. The background looks good and the picture is done well. I have a whole series of Spyro games, I have three first games and a reignited version too in PS4. That's all what I say about this picture.

This piece of work looks great, and the colors are accurate to the characters depicted. The shading is good, and is in the places it needs to be. (Point of light.) While spyro's pose is great, I feel that sonic's is just a bit to stiff. Spyro's eyes are miss aligned from each other, and it looks a little weird. The background is nice, but I feel it doesn't correlate with either character. Overall a great digital piece, and I commend your work! Keep it up! I hope you take this critique as a helpful way to work on new pictures!

Sonic was supposed to do a grab and run but his hand got caught by Spyro's tail.
I was going for a pose where it looked like his planned movement was interrupted. Even so, now that you've pointed out it looks stiff I think I agree that it came out a little more stiff than what I intended.
It's my first time drawing Spyro so I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get him quite right especially since I picked a somewhat challenging position with his head. Was it the placement of the eyes or the iris and pupils that looked off?
Since both characters are from the 90s I tried to do the background inspired by the abstract style and colors used in that decade. Though I sadly lack the imagination to mix in any themes from the characters games. Backgrounds really aren't my strongest forte I'm afraid (evident by the large number of background-less pics in my gallery). I'll have to practice on that.

To make it a little clearer i thought Spyro's eyes should: 1. either his right eye (My left) should be looking farther DOWN to be inline with his left eye (my right). or 2. HisΒ left eye (My right) should be looking farther UP to be inline with his right eye (my left).
I hope that makes sense.
I tried my best to critique your art, but I have never done a critique before so it was quite an interesting experience. I am not that great at art, but I try my best.
Sorry if it seems weird to ask, but can you recommend anything I can draw? I have a horrible habit of not knowing what to doodle. While I have a few sonic related posts, I suck at drawing sonic characters! XD

I don't know, you should really just draw what you like, and if you're not happy with how you draw it then practice, practice, and practice. If I'm completely new to a type of anatomy or a particular type of style I need to study it, maybe look at some tutorials if I'm really unsure, and then do some warm up reference sketches before attempting to make an original drawing of the character/creature.

Looks great! I recently played it. First game is good, second is amazing, but the third was pretty bad, tbh. I know some people say the third is the best, but the first game is even better than the third.
