As you can see, still no background. I just didnt feel like drawing (or doing anything at all) the last few days.And before i leave for the weekend, i wanted to get this uploaded. so here it is.

it's the second attempt of coloring an Accomdanih. Although the first version looked nice ([link] ), i wasnt satisfied with it. It just wasnt... unique enough. Still isnt unique now (and will never be) but waaaay better in my opinion. Getting back to my original idea of the Tyraeli's skin tone (blue).
Although i cant guarantee there'll be a background version I'll try to do one when i get home (on monday).
Overall it probably took my about 8 hours (5 for coloration). Photoshop CS2 and Wacom Graphire tablet.
some extra information about the Tyraeli Accomdanih i copied from one of my comments on the previous artwork:
If you look at an Accomdanih, theres no way you can tell what it thinks or feels like. They have no facial muscels (am i making up words again?), so no chance of visible emotions. Is it relaxed, or ready to jump at you to ripp you apart? this fuckin would freak me out. and thats the whole point ;D
The tyraeli are no animals actually. They're a intelligent race with culture, religion and of course speech.
The Accomdanih though, which is the biggest warrior class, are way less intelligent than the other classes (Arazawo, Aluerkawo and Aldaitsamu). They can't really speak and act more like animals.

Yea I noticed you don't have a comic yet but it would be a pretty amazing comic. I would read it everyday, just like a read "Grim Tales from Down Below" by Bleedman, everyday lol. Sorry about that I must have went off in a daze when I was talking, I have been trying to come up with a comic Layout and Idea for about 1.5 years well, 2.5 years now. I have 5 episodes out of 25 typed already and I have the characters started I just haven't Colored them.

lol well get crakin, I bet there is a million people out there waiting for it and a million more that will hear about it and read it. When ever I become as good as you and othere artists here in DA with Photoshop, I will start posting my comics when I decide how to do them.

No I wont Lie I have no Idea what the names that everyone is calling this because I was just browsing but when I looke thre your profile more I bet I will find out. What I want to say is this is amazing I love artists that can draw like this, the dinos and the monsters and the demons ect. I find it amazing because it is soemthing I can not do, Very well done and colored as well. Now I am off to find out more about this picture and your work. Amazingly done.

Well my one question is how long did it take you to come up with this idea. I have been trying to come up with an Idea for a comic, fow about 1 and a half now and I only have 5 episodes done and I have like 4 other comic Ideas... I makes me want to split my head open sometimes lol.

well the basic idea was there in 2001 i think. from that on it was a long process in which i came up with new ideas n stuff. And afterall, the story is not finished yet.
How long did it take you trying to come up with an idea for a comic? 1 and a half... what? 0_o
btw, i havent really drawn (or finished) a whole comic about this story yet.

oh man dude, you gotta give me tips on how to draw ldragon/dinosaur types of shit, cos all i can say is im ok at dragons but i aint that good at making them look, dragonie.

lol I'm afraid its not that easy. I never made any kind of drawing tutorial myself and there's not much of a system behind the way i draw.
I think the answer is practice. I draw dinosaurs/dragons since kindergarten, thats why i have no problems with drawing them now.

Man, I´m very impressed with the final result! I love the way that you lead the character design. You really did a good job with the combination of "reptilian" and "humanoid" elements. I especially like the "ape posture", with the large arms and the typical sustentation of the hands. I´m just curious about the locomotion of these creatures: they are bipedal ou quadrupedal?
The large claws are very impressive and I think these guys can really make very damage with them! I like the detail in the armour of arms, shoulders, legs and back... that spikes give a really cool touch to him.
The skull are amazing - very powerful and frightful, especially the large jaws. I can imagine some bones jammed between these teeth! The spike-like structures in snout, jaws and neck are amazing! But the most interesting is to imagine what these creatures think, the mysteries that they involve, what they hide in a face incapable to express emotions: this is the characteristic that more attracted me!
At last, the colour pattern is great. I saqw the first version and I liked it, but I think this one is more appropriate to them. I don´t know very much about them and is possible that I created a wrong image of them, but I see these guys as unexpected beings, maybe living quiet in the shadows and when we aren´t prepared they attack with savage fury - to me this conbination of gray and red reflects my personal view about them.

ooh man, I SO enjoyed reading your comment. You said/wrote out loud and summed up what i had in mind. (my lack of english skills prevented me from doin it myself).
It's awesome that you like the accomdanih so much and know and understand whats behind all this. Heck, I'd even say you almost know them better than i do. Because unlike me, you have amazing dinosaur-knowledge which quite helps in this point.

alright, now heres some answers to your questions:
The Accomdanih is lets say 80% quadrupedal (like a gorilla or bear maybe). They CAN walk on 2 feet, but hardly ever do so unless they need to: Sometimes they carry giant spears and maybe even a largy shield (plus additional body armor) which would make them almost invincible, able to cut a human tank in half. In this case they would walk on 2 feet.
The Aluerkawo ([link] ) usually is bipedal but often uses 4 feet in order to run faster.
The Arazawo ([link] top right) and Aldaitsamu (no pics online yet) who are the most intelligent classes are almost like humans and hardly ever walk on 4 feet.

These concepts are great! We really can see the evolution between all these classes of Tyareli, from the rude Accomdanih to the gracile and intelligent Arazawo. Now I´m waiting for the Aldaitsamu!

was schwebt dir denn vor? Im prinzip kannst dich einfach in meiner gallerie bedienen. Wenn du willst auch eins von den beiden collections (creature-, character-collection) ausschneiden. Ich würd mich sowieso am liebsten überraschen lassen ;D
