There exists a simple thing laid out before you that you can't touch. A simple thing that other people take for granted. No matter how hard one struggles, it is not yours to have. Accept that all you can do is take happiness in other people simply having what you desire and are deprived of. She feeds the birds so she can enjoy them basking in the one thing she can't have.With that stated, this sums up how I feel about my own art right now. You find that you aren't the artist you want to be, and grabbing for it only burns you. You take joy wherever and however you can find it and let that be enough.
There is alot I could say about duality. Light/dark, inside/outside, life/death, solitary/group,
but you guys can probably get the drift of what I'm going for.
I guess what I'm trying to say is kinda personal, maybe you guys gleam it, maybe not. Either way, enjoy. Lots of photoshop over an ink drawing. I didn't really map out the perspective, so I eyeballed alot of it. It was a lot of fun to mess around with perspective.

I guess the same goes for me. You're the kind of artist I aspire to be, but I don't really think it's possible for a lot of reasons. However, just looking at your works and recognizing the effort you put in each and every one of them is enough to inspire and make me happy

I know how you feel with the comments you wrote here. I've been at a point with my art, where I feel I want it to be so much more, but I can't get there as fast as I like. You're right, I have to take joy in what I have done, not walllow in what I have yet to acheive. If I don't love the work, the work won't love me. You've given me back a spark of inspiration. I'll try to pass it on.

what you are saying about how you feel about your art i understand today i looked at some of the workd i did this year and a strong felling of dissappiontment, i has passed now that i am not in the same room as them i fear if i go back in i might want to burn them but saddly i can not as they need to be assest and i am sure my mum will be proud and want them on her wall. i love your work and i think you should be very proud of yourself

OMG. o_O... -rubs eyes- You are so correct, you have NO idea. I didn't even consider that, but I've got these undone projects weighing me down like mad. I made this because I pretty much felt like my brain was going to implode and I needed a break.. that is probably one of the contributing factors..

yes, been there β it really does play on your head, careful, sometimes these types of bothersome thoughts weigh on your mind so much they carry over into your dreams/nightmares, but those are things you can use as fuel..

saw this last night, but had to give it some thought..... after mulling it over, I think this is now my favorite piece of yours..... the coloring is simply wonderful, and the feelings miss.vampire is giving off with her expression and pose are just great. As for this: "You find that you aren't the artist you want to be, and grabbing for it only burns you", I'm thinking that you'll find some extra insulated gloves so you can grab what you're reaching for.... just a guess, metaphorically speaking.
