Description
AcrylicThis one might be harder to explain. One manβs sadness isnβt felt by everyone else around him. Yet, his placement in the world might be a beautiful thing. A unrelated example is as follows : A famous painter such as Van Gogh might be unhappy with his life and paint out of desperation and sadness, but no one questions that he has brought great beauty and goodness to the world as a result of his unrest and frustrations.

Feeling at loose ends, I typed "sadness" in the search box, and found something powerful here.

poignant is probably the best word to describe this. i saw it in another comment and was like .
concept was wonderfully developed and continues to affect the viewer even after the first time looking at it.
appropriately bold and dramatic, great use of shading to convey the dark thunderheads etc. wonderful representation of clouds, and the dog () on the umbrella. i love the whimsical style and almost-scratchy use of acrylics.
your "artists comment" really made me think. in my opinion, most things in life come in pairs. light and dark. positive and negative. green and red. and i suppose that if one were to progress or succeed so immensely in one area, then it would have to come with pain and suffering too. van gogh is an excellent example, just like beethoven and even bach. there are probably a million exceptions too. o well.

Beautiful colors. The negative space in the clouds is a little bit distracting. Great job, though.

i really love your explanation. i've never really thought about that. it almost makes you feel guilty knowing that unless there was great pain there probably wouldn't be great art.

Thanks!
Yes, but it also true that these wonderful things are worth the struggle.
