Miss Orchid MeiAn experiment in film noir style. I am trying different styles of photography to see a) what i like to do and b) what i am good at. I like trying out different things and this was a challenge for me. Black and White is always difficult in the color digital world. At least for me. I love this shot which was taken towards the end of the evening. Mei performs burlesque here in Denver and does a great job at it and of course has all the great costumes for this type of work. I only hope I did her justice.

I wonder if I didn't shoot at such an extreme angle if it would look better. She is really thin though, but I didn't like the wall so I tried to get less wall in this. She is a great burlesque dancer so she has such great costumes that really make this work well. Thank you for your comments.

I shot this in a studio that didn't really have a great setting for what I was going for ( and she doesn't smoke haha ), but she made this shot work. As a burlesque dancer, she has a ton of different outfits and looks. Thank you very much for the comment.

Over al I think you got theidea dead on. I think (mind you my thoughts only) is that the wall is what might be taking away from it. Other wise spot on!

I was shooting this in the studios "backyard" with the idea of a woman standing on a street corner at night. There was no corner and no lamp posts, but for some reason, as I took the shots, I still saw them. Some day I will come back to reality.
I don't mind your thoughts and point of view at all. I welcome it and thank you for sharing. I learned soo much since then and would like to try again. We shall see.

Hey no reason to have to come back to reality when you don't have to lol - Thats great that you could visiualise that all of that. I got that impression.
I would oove to see you do it again. If for no other reason then to see where you have gone with your own visions.
