FATE ORB XYLIA COMMENT
Hi! This is an illustration made for the cover of my new one shot title, F.O.X. : Fate Orb Xylia. This will be released on the upcoming KOMIKON '09 this October 18. I've tried different styles in this one shot and I'm really satisfied with my ongoing progress so far. ABOUT FATE ORB XYLIA
F.O.X. is the acronym for Fate Orb Xylia. It basically means "Fate Orb of the Woods". This is my contemporary interpretation of the Japanese legend, Kitsune and Hoshi no Tama
A Kitsune closely guard a round ball called, Hoshi no Tama (Starball). Those who obtain it can force the kitsune to help them; one theory says that the kitsune 'reserves' some of its magic in this ball when it shape shifts. Kitsune must keep their promises or suffer a deterioration in their rank and power. '
In my one shot komik, I did my own interpretation of the legend while putting them in a contemporary world. This was originally a thesis project of a classmate but it was 'shelved' for another topic. Since I originally had the ideas for the shelved project, I got the rights and asked my few Revel members (who contributed as well) to create my own version of the story. I grew up with the Kitsune legend, that's why I'm so persuasive about writing my own point of view about it. They are simply, enchanting. Hmm, I think the right word is--- foxy.

The orb thingy is the girl's necklace originally owned as a jewel of the foxes. It is called, Fate Orb Xylia. 
Fate Orb Xylia is the other name for Hoshi no Tama

Because her ancestors were the traitors of the fox clan. 
Something like, her parents were criminals. But that's just an example since I'm not allowed to spoil the story before releasing this on the debut date.
