Description
This picture got stuck in my head and I needed to draw it (despite I should work on commission TwT ). So we got Aira-ty as her usual self, serious and deadly and in the background who she could have become, her more contained compassionate Jedi self. Nothing too exciting but damn I worked so much on this one... x'D But I love my new tablet, the lines I draw are sooo smooth like a dream and I have surprisingly much control over my lines, damn I love it!Some WIP pictures because I liked the different stages of this work. a-galaxy-of-our-own.tumblr.com…

Hey there! I was interested in commissions if you have them open, I've seen your account and I have loved your art for 2 years and counting! Just let me know if they are open and if I can purchase something, thanks! 💕

I've been meaning to ask how do you do your story development/alternate time line? do you roleplay or something with your character(s)? if so how do you do it?

Well mostly by talking, we chat a lot mostly with SlingBlade87 and Vizu since we have common stories about our characters and we can talk hours long about different storylines and stuff when someone has a new idea, we also rp with Vizu a lot recently but we did it with our imperial characters only so far. But what do you mean by 'how we do it'? We do these in private chatting on gmail.

I'm not really sure how it could work since I for example butcher the language and am not so good at writing as you... you're so much better and I don't want you to cringe when I'm answering you... ;^; Also I'm just being nervous I never did rp Aira-ty before.

Oh my! This is incredible on so many levels! The framing and juxtaposition of the characters is so iconic! This could easily be the cover art for a film or book. Heck, if this was available for prints, I would buy a three-foot-tall poster of it!
I love the dichotomy of the different version of Aira-ty, especially in their poses and facial expressions. You really bring out how different they are. Granted, I love your art in its entirety, but this piece is exceptionally well done in my humble opinion.
Aira-ty's face shape in her Jedi persona is a little different than usual for you, but it is still so similar. I think, she possibly looks a little older there, like possibly in her 80's or 90's (considering her lifespan, I think that would be accurate). Anyways, I like this difference, intentional or not.
I really love all of the details in her armor. The weathering and tattering of her armor looks quite legitimate and realistic rather than what most artists do. I can see the time, skill, and attention to detail that you put into this piece. For that, I truly admire it and applaud this image.
I honestly, in all seriousness, want this as a poster. Please consider offering it as a poster, or at least a standard print.

Well incredible might be a exaggerated but I'm glad you like it hehe, I really worked a lot on this piece. *laugh* You know I'm stuck even with normal prints, I would have no idea how to set up a poster...
Being honest usually I only doodle and put less effort into my things since I'm just fooling around enjoying myself but here I tried real hard to make it look good (which usually ends up with a huuuuge failure so I'm actually surprised this isn't that bad as it could be).
I think the reason for the different face shape is that my style changed somewhat lately and I didn't draw her too much in this period so now it comes out a bit differently. At least I myself felt that I'm drawing her a bit differently than usual, she already changed a lot during the years I'm drawing her and she still will in the future I'm sure eheh.
I always wanted to draw her armor like this and time to time I remember that 'ah yeah I should do the damages on her armor' but most of the time I simply forget it or am too lazy to make them look good, so yeah..... But I'll try to add them in the future because they give a lot to the design.
Honestly I already tried to make this a print but then I started to have doubts... ^^"" Because when printing a digital picture the print always will be a lot darker and how am I supposed to know how bright I should make the pic? I searched a lot on the net about it but noone has a single helpful advice... And I can't even test it because I have no printer... So I got stuck again...

I like the change in style. Aira-ty's face looks a bit softer, more elegant, but still has the ever-present ferocity that she is known for. I enjoy seeing how characters evolve along with the artist. My characters certainly look a lot different than when I was just starting out. Sometimes I made the change and sometimes the changes that I made were suggested by others.
That makes a lot of sense, that most of the time you just doodle. I would hope for that, as that is the sign of a professional artist, which I consider you to be. That means that you have a passion for what you do, which is so very important for a great artist. I too, spend most of my time messing with my characters and never actually make artwork with them. Oddly enough, the 'spur of the moment' renders that I make are often times more popular than the ones that I spend weeks on. I suppose that might be because my passion is more present in the ones that are suddenly inspired.
Do not worry about the darkness of the print. That is a factor specific to each printer individually. I have made enough prints on enough printers to know that it is impossible to anticipate how bright you should make your artwork. Do not worry though, for I have good news! Such a problem is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Most printers made today have corrected this issue. It is also known well enough that most print shops hire graphic designers to brighten or darken an image as necessary in order to make acceptable prints. DeviantART is rather good about this, so I would not worry. Still, it is certainly a good idea to do a test print. Choose or create an image (this one would work nicely) that has a balance of very dark and very bright colors. Order the print, and see for yourself how well DeviantART's print shop does.

I usually change without even aknowledging it, sometimes I do little stuff on purpose but it just develops by itself as time goes.
Nah, I'm definitely no professional artist I'm just a simple hobbyist. Aaand I totally know what you're talking about, most of the time if I just doodle something quickly it gets more love than the pieces I work days on... And I also thought that it may have something to do with that certain artistic mood and passion.
Ok, thank you so much for the advices, it really helps a lot! And I uploaded my first print for this piece actually. I just would like to ask two more questions if that's ok with you. I'm sorry for bothering you all the time. ^^"" But could you please check the print if the settings look ok? I mean the size and stuff. Also which paper you advise to buy? Glossy, matte or lustre? Then I'll buy the print to check out the quality for myself before I let people know about it. Thank you!

Your quality and skill present the artwork of a professional artist. In my humble opinion, one does not have to be employed as an artist to be a professional. It really does not matter what you say; in my eyes, you are a professional, even if you do not aspire to be one. I went to art school and had classmates who focused on digital illustration. By the time of our graduation, they were technically professionals, but they still had not achieved the quality consistency and memorable style that you have.
Ask any and every question that comes to your mind! I want to help you, so it makes me happy to have questions to answer rather than me just bombarding you with hopefully useful information.
The print is at the correct dimensions for the size you have available. My quick and easy way to check that is to re-scale the image. For 8x12, I would scale the width of my image to 800 and see what the height would adjust to. If the height adjusted to 1200, then it would be correct and your print passes that test.
Everyone prefers different paper. Some people like glossy, but I don't. I prefer matte so that it is easier to be viewed in any lighting and does not compound the reflective problems if framed behind glass.
