I made this because I am thoroughly disgusted with what rock music has become. it's like once we hit the new millenium, music died. how the hell can this hunk of musical failure be considered Rock? it's amazing how a genre of music can change so drastically in 40 years.people like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and The Beatles would be ashamed of what rock music has become.
isn't rock music supposed to actually MEAN something? so much popular music is all abut the same shit. partying and having a good time, singing shallow songs about girls/boys and all that shit. I have nothing against party music or breakup songs, but life isnt always one big party.
in fact, most of the time life is a pain in the ass. and now you have to listen to the hardcore rock and punk music to hear songs that are actually about something. if you want to listen to some REAL music, listen to artists like My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Hollywood Undead, System of a Down, Within Temptation, Linkin Park, and Sandi Thom.
their lyrics still mean something.
or you can always listen to the classics from the 60's and 70's.

Disney Channel "Rock" (more like crap) is soo annoying, I can't beleve people like it so much, same with a lot of the pop/rap stuff people at my school like.
I love bands like Paramore and Fall Out Boy because they're lyrics have so much meaning.
I like Green Day, and MCR and Linkin Park are okay.

I agree. Green Day and MCR are my two favorite american bands from the past few years. alot of my fave music is from the 60's, 70's and 80's. and of course there's the awesomeness of foreign music.

And thats why I rely on other countries for my rock music. Everything that comes out in America just sucks (there's a few excepts but not many)

I agree. I'm sick of all these songs about making up, breaking up, and all those other cliches. I like when bands tell stories, or have meanings so twisted you have to really dig into the song to understand.

ugh! the jonas brothers are so not rock. they ruined it! i agree with you. the beatles were amazing. the jonas brother's are total shit. real music, like you said, has a meaning behind it. someone should kill them. they make a mockery of rock.

I agree with you fully on this, lovin' the music choices for good lyrics though, System of a Down is amazing. I saw something on tv a few weeks ago... jonas brothers are comapred to Aerosmith, considered SIMILAR. I was so insulted by this, Steven Tyler is a way better singer and the lyrics are much more interesting!

I agree with you so much I could go through this computer and make out with you. Janis joplin, Country Joe, Hendrix, Beatles, all their shit meant something, and not only that but you could hear it in their music. They had feeling. This new stuff isnt music, it's a bunch of kids banging on instruments and pretending like they can play. Whats worse? America's eating it up!
