I understand that today in shows for children show homosexual couples and similar characters so that the audience accepts this type of things and this type of people are not discriminated against in real life. I have seen famous LGBT couples like Ruby and Sapphire, Korra and Asami and Princess Bubblegum and Marceline.

But I must admit that it was very shocking that outside the show to confirm that Jackie is lesbian/bisexual, after a while to see her as Marco's girlfriend convincing everyone to be heterosexual, no one expected that after several episodes without seeing her find out that she also they like girls Finding out about this was the same way we found out that Mariposa would be on the way, that it was seeing Angie pregnant after several episodes without knowing anything about her and Raphael, what was also shockin for me. 

I think that if a character is going to undergo a big change, like revealing their true sexual orientation or having a child, we should at least see some anticipation in their change instead of absent that character for so long without knowing anything about the big change that we will see later.
