on june 2nd. ford announced that it was killing mercury in favor expanding lincolnto be honest, i've seen it coming
over the past 70 years, mercury has taken a nose dive from supreme cars like the cougar and s-55 to guised up fords like the milan in addition to failures (....mystique and montego) ..... oldsmobile and plymonth did better than it when they were axed
rest in peace, mercury: 1939-2010 gone and most likely forgotten

When you get down to it, Mercury and Lincoln are basically just Ford trim levels. The past few years Mercury has been plagued by Ford who made them tune down their cars in order to keep cars like the Mustang on top. Fail. It's too bad all the good American brands are going away. GM just shut down Pontiac in favor of Saturn and now this.
