how does using a ballpoint differ from using a fine line marker pen, is the ink more potent? Im still learning new ways to make art thats why I'm curios

Using Fineline markers are the (best) most efficient way for neat inking, because you can draw a consistent thickness of line no matter how much pressure you push your marker against a paper. That is why most draftsmen use em.for example if you have a 0.1 marker it will only give you a 0.1 line in exception on how fast you lift your marker from the surface of the paper,with practice you can  create a thick and thin line.(try mitsubishi uni-pins, im using it since college years. )

Ballpoint pen as an inking material is kinda more difficult to handle bcoz of the ballpoint tip,tendency to slip and secrete inconsistent amount of ink.sometimes it blots inks.(try bic ballpens)

This are just my preference due to my experiences,exploring your mediums can give you surprise.
