Description
Drawing 19 of 100-Here we have the 5 elements from Magic the Gathering in a circular, pendant-thing that I designed spewing their corresponding mana. I've always loved MTG and still play it today, though not as hardcore atm since money is extremely tight and I will admit...I am not the best player but I -love- building decks~
In the center you may notice a grey/white gem, that one represents 'colorless' and though it's not technically a element it still has an important role in the game itself. I made Plains more brown than I wanted, but I suppose it's close enough to tell that it's Plains and not any of the other elements xD

I really like the concept of this piece. I feel that some of your colors could be a bit different. The green darker. The black more of a dark purple. For the white I would suggest a tan similar to Ajani. Also the shapes are not symmetric. Since all of the colors are equally balanced they should be equal sizes. The white gem is almost a perfect circle, while the blue gem is an oval. I would suggest making one of the pie pieces and then using that original for the other four. Having the pie pieces equal sizes would really pull this piece together. Lastly, make the art board big enough for the whole piece. The white splash stays on the canvas while the black splash gets cut off.

Thanks for the review! I will admit I didn't do the shapes perfectly symmetrical...doing it traditionally is really tough, but I get your point nonetheless. The colors I know I could have done a better job at, just never really gave it as much though as I probably should. Guess I should be more careful when planning my drawing out xD
Thanks again for the insight, it's greatly appreciated!

I love the idea and it was pulled off great i just think the pentagon in the middle could be cleaned up a little and instead of the paint looking stof coming out if something related to that land like leafs rocks fire ect. but i love the idea and i think it was pulled off very well and i like how clean the colors are. i will for sure favorite this and show it to my friends who play magic. all so one more thing. i think it would look good if u added something to the back ground

I was thinking of doing something like that with the elements like leafs for green and rocks for red but I was unsure of myself so I decided against it...though with the amount of critique that I've gotten on this I may clean it up and re-draw it hopefully making a better version of it. Thanks again for taking the time to write the critique~

The only problem that I have with the art truly is the fact that the colors are in the wrong order. It's always white, blue, black, red, and green. You can start with any color, but they need to continue in that circle. Each color is allied with the colors on either side of it and enemies with the colors it is opposing. White is allied with blue and green, but enemies with red and black. Blue is allied with white and black, but enemies with green and red. Black is allied with blue and red, but enemies with white and green. Red is allied with green and black, but enemies with blue and white. Green is allied with red and white, but enemies with blue and black. That is all. It even makes sense if you imagine what each color of the wheel stands for.

Darn it, I didn't think of that. But I plan on revisiting this someday and re-doing it, so I'll have to take that into consideration xD
Thanks for the advice man! ^^

That's a pretty cool approach to the elements. I might have to look into the game. (It's a card game, right?)
I like how gems come out in your style. The colors seem to go well with everything.

Mhm, it's like the older brother to Yu-Gi-Oh (and the better one in my opinion). Been playing it for almost 12+ years now. Thank you, I'm rather pleased at how they turned out too but I wish I gotten them more equal and round xD
