Description
Shelagh attempts to save her friend Red, who has been captured by the Rat militants. Surveying several rats on the base encampment, she encroached on the perimeter boundaries:

-halting herself just short of rat patrol, the Roo waited for the right moment to strike
holding her breath, she sneaked up behind the rat patrol machete in hand...

She was close as one started to turn in her direction

-in a heart beat, Shelagh gets up and cleaves at the rats head from the side along the nose

There was a sputtering noise as the rat went down his buddy turned and let out a gasp as he tried to unsling the rifle he had. She had seconds to react

Shelagh grapples the sputtering rat and holds herself behind him as a temporary shield between the second Rat
her strong grasp dragging the rat in view of the enemy, while she grabs for the side arm on his belt
preparing for incoming shots, the using a 'Rat-shield'.

The other rat pulls the trigger and shoots into the now corpse without a second thought, these are savage rats it seems. Fortunately the kevlar vest worn by the dead rat shield stops the high velocity of a modern assault rifle rounds, the rat now growing a conscious of his fellow rat and hesitates moving his head away from the rifle sights.

Shelagh disparately reaching around diseased rats waist she grabbed for a weapon, managing to grab a pistol from the rat that felt like a blaster pistol. Immediately dischargeing the pistol in the rats direction (he has time to go prone or take cover)

-the rat dove for cover the scent of burned fur showing how close Shelagh got as the rat opened fire with his noisy weapon firing a 3 round burst that was aimed too high
(compromising her position, also Red would hear the gunshots)

Crumpling to ground sideways, the Roo returns fire with the blaster pistol still using the corpse as cover.

Shelagh scored a hit as the rat took a hit to the shoulder he stood up on swaying feet as he cried out in pain

The Roo full of adrenaline pushes the Rat, gets to her feet as the rat stands up, the Roo is temporarily out of sight as she ducks behind some plants, fires again from a closer vantage point.

The blaster bolt goes right through the rats chest and out his back the a smoking hole clean through him. Two down, but shouts could be heard more were coming. She could take the assault rifle if she wanted something extra. A weapon she was familiar with

Grabs the M4A1 rife from her second kill, then runs to flank the rat camp, seeking to infiltrate the perimeter using cover where she can... and dodge the incoming forces

(They're reliable I definitely preferred them to the bulky M16)

There were sandbags and razor wire everywhere as Shelagh moved around the perimeter. She found one spot that looked like a hole was running beneath the razor wire. Shouts from rats could be heard. Her bodies discovered.

-she dives into the hole covering her face temporarily then proceeds to crawl through, pushing her shapely body through the muck.

She felt a prick on her shapely rear but otherwise she made it through alright.

"ouchie" - the roo frowns and looks back at her rear, as long as the clothing material doesn't tear from the spike

She then stopped dead in her tracks as she saw her face was inches away from a buried landmine.

(!!!)

-of course the rats did something about that gap

"fuck!" she thought to herself.

(fallout landmine interaction button spam lol)

looking at it with an open mouth, her basic training kicking in as she inspects it
((honestly, think its pretty obvious Shelagh is a noob recruit))

It was an older model, disc shaped with antennae sticking up, it was probably in a foot of dirt. The rats were still shouting doing a perimeter sweep. She needed to move fast or shed be caught

Beads of sweat run down her furry face from her forehead
begins to gently remove the dirt and remain calm, focusing on the simulation training she received
fingering the base for the turn switch
(is there room to move the mine to the side and continue crawling?)

(There is. She has a few options here)

the pressure is getting to her, but the thought of Red in captivity makes her focus
lifting the bomb and gently setting it to the side of the hole
gulps
(she could have defused the mine and used it as a trap later, but isn't that experienced)

The mine thankfully doesn't go off. She's clear to move in

trembling as she moves forward and checking for more mines...
ducks down if a rat is nearby

From the looks of things there were no mines but she heard voices as a rat hustled by. She had definitely stirred up trouble

-the roo makes a strange sound to try and relax herself, tries to climb into a fortification building and looking around for cover so she isn't exposed to the patrolling rats, al the while eagerly listening for Reds voice.

Shelagh spotted a crude watchtower made of wood overlooking the encampment. Could be worth a loom, or she could head toward the decripit bunkers.

-checks to see if the coast is clear, hops into the nearest building, either the bunker or tower for looting...
