Left-Old scan ~ Right-New scanSo..I bought a new all in one printer scanner thing..but it did not work to my liking and have to try and exchange it for a model that IS NOT a Brother printer.
NO WHERE DID IT MENTION THIS ON THE BOX..The images scanned beautifully though slightly grainy, but for some reason the shitty software for the scanner automatically crops about a 5-10mm margin around the edges of ANY paper or document..fucking stupid I know. So I'm trying to take it back..and if they won't take it back I guess I'm stuck with a nice door stop..though I'll still use it for scanning..the images WILL be slightly cropped..to kinda prevent that I have to put a bigger black piece of paper behind everything I scan..ugh..PAIN IN THE ASS..
BUT
this is what it scans..I cannot get over the fact that I have been using the piece of junk on the left for so many years..LOOK HOW YELLOW THAT SHIT IS and its soo blurry o-o
I never realized how big of a difference it made..I want to keep the scanner but I'm upset with the software.. I guess I'll just see what happens when I take it back -_-
I usually do some editing to my scans(on my old scanner) I did absolutely no editing to both of these. The one on the right actually looks like my drawing :3

you could always get one of the cheaper ones that are just a flat bed scanner
I've seen some pretty nice 'somewhat' portable ones too

I got another hp scanner (like my old one), it's not as sharp looking but the colors are still waaay brighter xD

That's strange that it auto-crops. Does it have a "preview" option where it'll preview the scan? When I do that with mine, sometimes it makes it's own crop border, and then I just have to shut it off before I actually scan the image.
