From cartoon of the 3rd season - "Same As It Never Was".Excellent story, but crappy directing......How can one turtle is under attacked, while the others just stand by?
But Donny got back anyway, it seems this future would not happen anylonger.

Mikey is the heart of the family, the sunshine, the light that they all bask in. Yes, this was a terrible moment for Donnie from the SAINW section of the Turtles Forever movie. Not only did he lose Mikey, but Leo and Raph as well. But thank goodness the movie didn't end there and the brothers were all able to get back together in the end - with everyone alive and intact. Thankfully, Donnie's reality on this level of existence did not end of being the final destiny for the TMNT.

I remember seeing the episode when Donnie was sent to the distant future, and it was Hell on Earth. I saw how Mikey was the first of his brothers he saw. In that episode, Mikey was so awesome, but not his fun-loving self. Then again, with what happened in that time line, there was nothing to laugh about.
It was sad how Mikey and the others were killed during their showdown against Shredder, but Donnie won the fight.
I love the hugging between brothers. Mikey can be a pain at times, but he truly loves his brothers.

Dude, I know! I hated that ending, man! Donatello just disappeared to go back to his own time and left April all alone. Sure, they defeated Shredder, but she lost Splinter, Casey, and the turtles. That future probably never happened, but it was still heartbreaking. I was in shock when it just sent you to the end credits and continued on to the next episode as if none of that happened. Donnie must had learned or kept something from that experience

Or maybe it happened as a paralel universo ... that would be sad.
While Mikey was attacked, weren't his brothers fighting with other enemies too?
Anyway, Mickey with just one arm wasn't able to protect himself so much with a nunchuk ... with two arms you can hold one nunchuk you can hold it with both hands and use the chain to stop hits, but with one hand is imposible

Oh man. Way to pull at my heart strings. I agree, poor Mikey was left on his own, and only Donnie seemed to notice. I think it would have been too much to show their bodies after the Shreddar was defeated, but this well makes up for the sentiment missing. Nicely done.

My guess is that one they have been away from each other so long they aren't used to fighting together anymore and/or they were busy fighting themselves and couldn't get to him until it was too late.

Oh wow...this is so beautiful and sad! And I agree with you, the directing of the episode sucked ass. And Donny was like: "My poor brothers..." They freakin' DIED, Donny!!! They were, like, the most important thing in the world to you and you don't even shed a tear???

I both love and hate that episode; It's just so sad, and still it makes you think 'Oh! An idea!' For short, it makes the fantasy flow. Love the lowest picture, with Donnie sitting besides Old-Mikey's body.

not to come off mean but remember this. Mikey only has one arm if foot Ninjas surround him like the Karai bots did he could have proubly still died if you seen DBZ History of Trunks Gohan couldn't really fight with one arm as a matter of fact he died to.

"Same As It Never Was" is one of my favorite episodes, even though it's probably the most depressing one I've seen.
I love the way you drew them. I also like the fact that the second drawing is darker, because it kind of makes it look more "real", while the happy memory scene above seems to be fading away as the eye comes down to see what's left of it in Donnie's sad present... Very moving effect.
