My entry for =TAKORUone 's contest~

It was quick because the deadline is soon. I would have liked to ink and color it as well but I discovered today that my lightbox lamp is broken!

Name: Mattieu Espre

Mattieu is the typical son of a gun everyone loves to hate; he's extremely arrogant, obnoxious, and very self-absorbed in all. He regards himself being above others for his French descent as well as his ability to fight with a staff/double ended staff. He takes pride in knowing he's strong and goes around picking fights with whomever looks weak or strong. He teases a lot of the people around him (especially Takoru) by calling them names in French ("Petit merde!") or mocking them in a childish voice. When he isn't spending time fighting or making fools of others, Mattieu is either smoking a cigarette, drinking, or trying to pick up attractive women.

When Mattieu was younger, he was considerably kinder and very passive. But it began to change when his parents started to neglect him. He would cry out for attention but would never recieve it. Instead, he was cast in the shadow of his older brother, Emile, and his parents praised him for being very strong and responsible. One of the most horrible memories Mattieu had was when he was locked out of his home in winter for a night without his family knowing. Therefore, Mattieu hates the idea that his Ki element is water because it always seems to freeze because of his memories, making him bundle up in clothes to excape his inner chill. In order to be regarded by his parents, Mattieu searched for power and decided he'd love himself since no one would actually look at him. The last bit of his happy child hood is his cream colored scarf and necklaces he wears everywhere. Other than that, Mattieu is an alright guy when you get to know him. He has a secret love for hot chocolate and has a supply of chocolate cigarettes. He curses in French all the time when he spills his hot drinks all over his body or loses those cigarettes.

On fighting, Mattieu likes to fight with either a staff or double ended scythe (preferably the scythe) that he calls Claire. He normally fights without his Ki because of his discontent, but when pushed to the edge, he encases Claire and his hands with a sheet of freezing water that is slightly liquidated but mostly solidfied into ice for defense and offense. He may act like a big bully, but Mattieu dislikes fighting deep down. He just wants to be seen as worthy son by his family.

Hope I make it~~ If not, oh well, I'll keep Mattieu because I've grown fond of him <3
