This is a striking image that succeeds on many levels. The models total intensity is telegraphed beautifully by every part of her naked body. Seeing her suspended above the sheets of an unmade bed, frozen in the midst of a martial arts kick, evokes a host of possible stories that could be surrounding this moment. The photographer captured this moment with technical clarity and aesthetic simplicity. If the cropping were a bit tighter I believe the impact would even have been greater, but the frame of the bedsheets below, shadow on the wall and the ceiling line at the top provide excellent context and are in fact key to the images power.
