A sketch I made while I was visiting colleges in North Carolina. Though I don't particularly agree with the decision to give Quiet such an impractical outfit, she was still very fun to draw.ΒThis took about an hour and a half and was made with just a pencil. My reference:

Β let me be sincere. This is one of your best work. You used minimal shading, but yet you were able to make her look realistic, especially on the eyes. The darkness on the eyes gives the drawing a very strong depth. And yes, I agree with you I don't like the fact that she is wearing almost nothing, but kojima said there is a reason for that, so we shall wait and see.Β

Your style really goes very well with realism. It's a great looking picture. I like the shading on the skin especially, it's done quite well, her hair's very good as well, though the skin is still my favourite part. The eyes are a little dark and hard to see, but I assume they'd be hard to shade. I've never really tried while using just pencil, so it's probably better than anything I could do.

Thanks so much! The eyes were definitely the hardest part, it was difficult to tell from the reference how exactly to go about shading them. And you ought to give a pencil-only drawing a try-- you might surprise yourself

Maybe you could time yourself-- see how far into a drawing you could get using just pencil in the same amount of time it would otherwise take you.
