Description Chapter 1: Mutations

(Y/N's POV)

     Hello there, my name is (Y/N). I'm a (short/tall/average) girl, with (h/l), (h/c) hair, and (e/c) eyes. I've lived in New York City almost all of my life, and began working for Mr. Murakami at his little Japanese restaurant a couple of weeks ago. I would usually start work around 4, right after school, until around 10 at night. My family wasn't the wealthiest, and that's okay. I'm happy I can help out any way I'm able to.
     I was sweeping up the restaurant one night, right before I was about to leave. I washed all of the dishes, made sure all of the food was put away, and then said my goodbyes to Mr. Murakami. "It's very cold, stay warm!" He shouted after me, after I was almost outside of the doors. I smiled, looking down at my tattered jacket that provided slight heat. "I'll take the quickest route home, have a safe night!" I called out, and left. I wasn't scared, really. Normally, you'd think, 'a teenage girl walking home alone at night, they should be terrified!' Well, I'm not, because I walked these streets thousands of times. I've never been attacked, or hurt once, so I'm in the clear. Right?
     I was in the middle of turning down in between two buildings, in order to cut my route in half, when I heard a voice. Not just a voice, but a scream. "WATCH OUT!" "Hm?" It came from above me? Right when I looked up, a canister of green goo broke over my head, and dripped down my body. Needless to say, I was not thrilled.
     "AHHH!" I shrieked, trying to shake the goo off. "Ma'am! P-Please be still!" I heard a deep voice call out. When I looked ahead of me, my eyes nearly popped out of my head. Right there, standing in front of me, where 4 giant, walking, talking turtles that were carrying weapons. They were different heights, and all wore different colored masks. "Oh man, Leo! She's changing!" The one who wore an orange mask shouted, pointed towards me. "What?" I questioned, and looked down at my body.
     My (s/c) skin had changed into green, rough skin, and my hands had went from having five fingers, to only three. My rear began to feel weird, and when I turned to look at it, there was a long tail growing out. Oh no. Oh God no. "W-What's h-happening to me?" I looked up to the turtles, who all stood awkwardly. "HELP ME!" I cried out, and one with a purple mask cleared his throat. He was easily the tallest of the bunch. "You've been exposed to something called mutagen. It..as you can see...can change ones appearance into something...unhumanly..." He had guilt in his eyes, not even making eye contact. The one with a blue mask joined the purple mask. "We should take her to Splinter, and get her washed off so we don't get in contact with it. Then Splinter can decide what should be done."
     "What's your name, dudette?" Orange mask approached, with a large smile on his face. "Uhm...(Y/N)..." "Sweet! My name is Michael Angelo, but you can call me Mikey for short. These are my brothers," he pointed to each turtle as he put names with faces, "Leonardo, or Leo. Donatello, or Donnie, and finally that big angry one is Raphael, or Raph." So, blue was Leo, Purple was Donnie, Orange was Mikey, and red....which seemed to match his apparent attitude for some reason, was Raph. "Follow us, (Y/N)." Leo spoke softly, opened the manhole that was a little ways down, and jumped in. Donnie followed, and then Mikey.
     I hesitated, not sure on what to do. Should I really follow these...turtles...into the sewers? Why were they in the sewers? My eyes widened when I hit a sudden realization.
     Will I ever see my parents, or friends, again? "You gonna go or sit there like a space cadet all night?" I heard a rough voice speak beside me. I had no idea why, but his attitude was starting to really tick me off.
     With a glare, and a huff, I jumped into the sewers. Raph followed, after closing the manhole behind him. The walk was quiet, and my clothes were sticking to my skin. I couldn't handle it, so I stripped off my jacket, so that I had less material on. Other that that, I kept my clothes on. No way was I getting exposed in front of some turtles. "What are you doing?" Raph stared at me confused, while I was tossing my jacket into the water of the sewer. "Well, not like I can wear it anymore. Kind of sucks since it's my only jacket." I thought for a moment. "Will I be able to go home?"
     He thought for a minute. "Of course not." He said, in a are-you-stupid voice, which only made me even more upset. Raph sighed, crossing his arms. "Look, you shouldn't even be here. This was a complete accident because Donnie's stupid egg headed self tripped, and dropped the mutagen canister over the ledge of the roof. So if you have anyone to me mad at, be mad at him. Cause Princess, if you keep giving me attitude, I'll give it back worse." I growled, and we stood there, glaring at each other for a few minutes. "This is stupid." Raph growled, and walked off. I stomped my foot on the ground, and followed after. "Don't just ditch me!"
     "Why not? You're just annoying." He kept walking, but I stopped, and stared down at my shoes. Boy, the others seemed perfectly fine, but Raph only was around me for a few minutes, and my skin felt like it was boiling from my anger.

~~~~~~~~~~~~************~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few hours later ~~~~~~~~~~~~************~~~~~~~~~~~~
     "All showered off?" Leo said, as I walked out into the main room, towels wrapped around my body. All I could do was nod. "What's wrong?" He gave a confused glance, then looked shocked at his own question. "W-Where...am I going to go? Now that I don't have a home?" I looked down at my three toed feet, shaking. "Splinter said you can stay here as long as you need to. It is kind of our fault this happened..." I looked up, to see he was rubbing his neck awkwardly. "I feel bad that we don't have any extra rooms, and the couch isn't really comfy to sleep on. So, you can take my room until we build on a new room." My eyes widened. "Oh no! I couldn't! You're already giving me your hospitality! I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I took your room from you too..." He chuckled, walked up to me, placing a three fingered hand onto my shoulder. "Don't worry about it. I don't mind."
     "Hey, you guys hungry?" Mikey yelled out from the kitchen. Leo looked at me, grinning. "Wanna eat?" I don't know why, but I absolutely did not want to eat. Why would I want to? Don't turtles eat like...leaves...or something...?
     My mind was saying no, but the whale in my stomach proved me otherwise. My eyes widened, and Leo about fell over laughing. "S-Shut up!" I grabbed my stomach, my cheeks growing hot in embarrassment. It took Leo about 5 minutes to contain his laughter. "Oh man, that was good." He wiped away a tear, and grinned. "No worries about the food, it's just pizza." "Pizza? Turtles eat pizza?" I crossed my arms, then realized that I was standing out in their living room, in nothing but a towel. I only realized that, because when Donnie and Raph walked out, Donnie about tripped over himself, and Raph choked on the air he was breathing.
     I gasped, and quickly ran back into the bathroom, locking the door. "Oh gosh, this is going to take a while to get used to."
~~~~~~~~~~~~************~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2 months later ~~~~~~~~~~~~************~~~~~~~~~~~~

     "How's it look?" Raph stood at the entry way of my new bedroom, his arms crossed, and a grin across his face. I was standing in the middle of the just built room, that had a standing mirror hung on the wall, a twin bed in the far left corner, and a desk beside a dresser. "It's...it's amazing! Thank you so much!" I gleamed, turning to the red masked turtle, who smirked. "Good, we managed to get some clothes for you. Well, okay April got you some new clothes." I nodded. I was really glad she did, because even though I was a salamander now, I think, I'm not sure. I was some sort of lizard, but i didn't like not wearing clothes. It felt...weird. April had lent me a few sun dresses and long tee's, but I missed having a more bigger selection.
     Alright, so let me run down how the last two months have gone. It started out really, really awkward. I was almost always in Leo's room, locked away from everyone. I was trying to adjust to my new body. Now, I know, it's rude to be invited into someone's home, and not even show my face, but can you blame me? I had to get used to having three fingers, and three toes. I also had to get used to my tail as well, because I usually forgot I had it, and would either sit on it, or step on it.
     After I was okay with my appearance, I started showing my face around the lair more. Whenever the guys were out on patrol, I would even go into the dojo and speak with Splinter whenever I was upset. Soon enough, I met a girl who I had a few classes with at school, but never really talked to before now. Her name was April O'Neil. She was wonderful to hang around with, and a great friend. I was just glad to at least have one girl around.
     Once I was befriended with April, that's when I started getting closer to the guys. Mikey, well, he's Mikey. He pretty much claimed me his best friend the first time we talked. After getting to know him, I figured he was the most, energetic of the group. When we got fairly close to each other, I soon started making friends with Donnie. He wasn't always around, he was usually in his lab. I began to notice whenever April was here, he was more...distracted and clumsy. Poor boy, so easy to read.
     With Donnie, he was nervous to talk to me because he was the one who dropped the mutagen on me. He would refuse to accept my forgiveness at first, thinking I would always hate him. So, to prove him wrong I would always try striking up conversation with him, and become interested in his projects. Then, I began helping him with his April problem, which really made us close.
     Leo and I were already pretty okay with each other. I mean, the boy let me sleep in his room for two months while he occupied the couch. I felt bad about it, and would always try to repay him any way I can, even though he refused any such thing.
     Then there was Raph. Honestly, I have no idea where I stand with him. He's rude, hot headed, a jerk, temperamental, and secretive. He would only ever open up to his pet turtle, Spike, which bothered me a bit because it just sort of felt like he was closing himself off from everyone else. I tried to become friends with him, but somehow we would end up in some sort of heated argument, and he would have to dismiss himself to punch his punching bag.
     My anger began to boil at the memories. I mean, seriously? I try to be nice, and he has to always have some sort of rude comment.
     I looked over at him, the muscular turtle leaning against my door frame, taking in the room. "What?" His gaze met mine, and I unintentionally scowled. "Why do you always pick fights with me?"
"What?!" He glared. I gladly returned the glare.
"Anytime I try to be nice, you always have some smart comment to say to tick me off."
"So?"
"So why won't you let me be your friend?!" I growled.
"Maybe because I don't need you as my friend. You shouldn't even be here." He growled back, and left the room. If my jaw could hit the ground, it would've. It sure was close. I clenched my fists, walked to the door, and yelled at his walking away figure. "Well then don't show your face around me again!" I slammed the door, and fell onto my bed.

(3rd person POV)

     "What was that slam?" Leo stood from the couch, looking at Mikey, who had paused his game to look at the hallway, and Donnie, who had stopped writing on a blueprint to follow their gazes. When Raph had walked into the room, his fists clenched, Leo walked up to him. "What did you do?" He stood infront of his brother, crossing his arms sternly. "Don't worry about it." Raph stated coldly, and shoved past him. Mikey rose from his spot. "Why was (Y/N) yelling?" He made a face, that was halfway a pout, but halfway a glare. Raph's knuckles changed colors from how hard we has clenching them. "Who cares? She's always moody like that."
     "Not around us." Donnie stated flatly, causing Raph's expression to soften a bit, but stayed as a scowl. "Well...I don't care..." He entered the kitchen, leaving his brothers in the main room, dumbfounded.
     Mikey snickered, and spoke barely above a whisper, "So he does have a heart."
