Description Um... Saltimbanco shirt + warming up (kind of) + tree = ID?

Definitely not my best pose like this, but I was trying not to fall over Uneven ground and bad balance.

When I first started stretching, I couldn't either. My goal was to be able to touch my toes.

I actually don't do ballet, but I would like to start. I actually do yoga and a dance class at school.

It is a variation of a yoga pose, but slightly exaggerated and with the toes pointed.

In other words, it's just a random stretch

Yeah! I got splits about six months after I started stretching fairly seriously, and I am not naturally flexible at all. This is also a lot easier than splits, so probably 3-4 months?

I think that taking a yoga class is great, that's how I started. You can learn a lot of basic stretches and how to do them properly like that.

If you really want to do it by yourself, work on stretches like sitting down on the floor with your legs straight out, bending over until it's a bit uncomfortable but not painful, and holding for a slow count of five, then repeat five times. Also try pointing and flexing your toes while leaning forward.

There's also a stretch I call runner's lunge that's great for prepping for splits. Kneel down and then put one leg in front of you like [link] and lean forward again to the point of discomfort and hold. Try to repeat five times per leg.

This one [link] is great for stretching your hips. Make sure to keep your hips as square (even) as possible.

It's not going to be too hard, it just takes a bit longer than for those people with natural flexibility. (grumble grumble) The bonus is that you're probably much stronger than people with a lot of natural flexibility.
