"HIS GRANDFATHER STOLE SOMETHING FROM HIM..."Let's face it, "Kubo and the two Strings" wouldn't be complete if it didn't have monsters in it. And boy is this movie fraught with them! Gashadokuros, Garden of Eyes, Flying witch ladies, dragon-like moon beasts, the works! It's part of what makes this movie exciting and scary and perilous!
Commentary: Another of my Anniversary art, and I'm impressed how this one came out! The moon looks like an actual moon, the sisters' capes capture that feathery look, the lips on their masks have their sinister smile, and I loved going wild with the golden coloring pencil! I think it's part of what gave this art piece its glow! Heck, the Moon Beast actually came out better than I expected him to!
More commentary: Notice the symbolism of how the highlights in Kubo's hair are less bright than before. In a sobering way, I meant this to signify how (as awesome as the fight scene was) he was in a dark place when he faced off the Moon King. Still, this symbolism can only mean "it's always darkest before the dawn"!
