Description
I couldn't help but imagine what it must've like for Ian to come into Laurel and Barley's lives, just as Wilden left itAlthough it would be bittersweet in that context, what mattered would be welcoming Ian as the youngest of the Lightfoots
Barley lost a father, but gained a baby brother
^w^
Happy Mother's Day

Laurel is a mighty warrior, one of the better examples of illustrating how far parents are willing to go to defend their children, to put up with all their problems to make sure they have a great life. Barley and Ian owe her BIG TIME for her role in making sure Barley had time to say a proper goodbye to their father and defeating the dragon made from the high school where this narrative of "disappointment", "confronting narrative/family dynamic tropes", "fantasy vs. realism" all started.

She's notably one of the strongest moms, not just for carrying a sword twice her size,
but her having raised two brave sons ^w^
She indeed played a big role in making sure Barley got even just a little bit of time to see her husband, if for the last time
