I just saw the movie tonight. Yes, I can totally see how you'd compare The Bedlam to Pennywise The Clown.

That's awesome!
What did you think of it?
I owe it all to GavinoElDiabloGuapo for the suggestion

Better than the original. I liked how it instead started with them as kids, instead of as adults having flashbacks to when they first encountered Pennywise.
I thought the scariest part was when he took the form of this Zombie-like person, outside the abandoned house. Oh, and that part where he opened his full mouth.

By the way, ever watched "Batman the Animated Series"?

I'm probably gonna wear my costume from last year. Last Year I dressed as Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls. I even took some photos and posted them in my gallery.
And no, not really. I think I saw an episode or two, but I am not really into Batman, or most Superhero stuff in general.

Yep, even in death, he's pretty popular ^^
Technically, Batman isn't so much a superhero as he is a humanΒ vigilante,
but I understand

Here's a pic of me in my Bill Cipher Costume when I wore it last year. I'm probably gonna wear it again this year. I don't go out in costumes often, but I just like this one so much, especially since it's the first costume I designed myself.
Well I don't totally hate Superhero things, but they aren't one of my favorites. I'm more into Anime and Video Game-style heroes myself.
Though I have seen a few episodes of Batman The Animated Series, and Batman Beyond. I do recall from the few episodes I saw that both those shows get pretty dark at times. Like stuff when Robin got tortured and brainwashed into becoming Joker's new minion, Joker Jr. Or that one guy in Batman Beyond who got mutated into a hideous blob creature.

Pretty neat!Β How did you cover the other eye hole?
π: 0 β©: 1
Hexidextrous In reply to Ready2Create [2017-10-16 00:30:42 +0000 UTC]
Mostly by a piece of cardstock I glued over the hole, and then I painted the mask all yellow AFTER that, so it doesn't show where it is covered up as easily. The backside of the mask shows how it was covered up better.

My favorite kids+One of my favorite horror books ever= Perfection!
Really this combination is perfect, The Beldam as IT is great, both feed on children, they're shape-shifter and in the end become a spider-like creature.
Also the fact that all of the Laika Kids are outcast in their own way, have family issues or been bullied by others, just like the losers club. And they are exactly seven of them!

You mean their fears?Β
Let's see if I can guess right:
Coraline- Spiders (?)
Wybie- Needles (?)
Norman- Lightning storms
Neil- Zombies
Eggs- Red hats (aka Boxtroll exterminators)
Winnie- Claustrophobia (?)
Kubo- The Sisters

I've always thought Coraline was a sort of Stephen King's It for kids. A shape shifting monster that lures in children so that it can feed on them? The Beldam even has a spider-like form at the end. As for the Laika kids, they're outcasts and/or have issues as do the Losers Club.

Ready2Create In reply to GavinoElDiabloGuapo [2017-09-03 03:01:26 +0000 UTC]
You have a point there about the Laika kids being outcasts in their own ways
Even Winnie is something of an outcast for her morbid fascination with the boxtrolls

I was just reading up about Stephen King's It last night, so I know what you're talking about! This is a fitting crossover. It's spider form also suits the Beldam's already thin form and I like the kid's show of strength by holding hands, it feels powerful.

Thank you!
"It's spider form also suits the Beldam's already thin form"
Those were my thoughts exactly!
I like how you use that word, "powerful"
It does indeed drive home how there's strength in numbers, particularly among Laika's children
