Description
This was done in a style very similar to Chained Fears .To start with the basic render was performed using Bryce4; the skull is an imported default from Poser4, the horn were a custom model duplicated and painstakingly placed. The sun settings were tweaked in the Sky Lab and instead a single radial light was used to give accent to the top of the skull.
The render was then performed twice for a 20x30 inch image at 150dpi- once with the texture and once without.
Once completed the two renders were imported into Photoshop6 and the airbrushing and background detailing began.
Using a combination of brush sizes I reworked the texture and removed the remaining artifacts left over from the rendering process while providing the horns with a smoother blend into the body of the skull. The original teeth were completely replaced.
I used one of my own 'stock' stellar backgrounds anda few other tidbits in order to round out a very basic background.
Enjoy.

This is actually a combination of three differant programs;
The Skull comes from Poser 4, exported into Bryce 4. I added the horns and basic textures there and rendered the whole thing at poster resolution.
All the detailing was done in Photoshop with the airbrush tool set at very low opacity and a very small brush head.
Not too difficult but very time consuming.

Wow. You obviously put a lot of work into this.
I think I like the teeth best - actually, the entire lower part of the skull, I really like. Mostly because the teeth are just so cool, and then the textures in that area are so interesting-looking.

That is truly fantastic. Your attention to detail is amazing. I don't know how you find the patience for that painstakingly long and detailed process, but it turns out beautifully.
