It's nice to have time to finish stuff.
Anyway - this is a requested background (that's obviously modeled after Steven Universe) with a bit of a long story behind it. Before we get to that, though - I should tell ya'll that it was a lot of fun trying to incorporate the extremely optimistic color pallet of that show into my already somewhat optimistic style (the "client" predicted such, and was right). Stopping this piece from becoming too bright was pretty challenging, as well. I learned a lot about correcting colors, and strategic simplification - it's been great!

Normally I don't like to be so chatty with pieces these days, but there's a story worth telling behind the scenes here. Recently, I've been trying to sell physical prints at a local galleria near where I work. And although the smiles on people's faces when they buy a favored piece are nice, as a business venture it's been pretty abysmal. That fate has extended to the galleria itself, unfortunately - and that's a shame.

If there's a local galleria in your area - and you like it, and you don't want to see it dissolve - then please don't be shy about engaging with it creatively. Be curious about how it works, ask questions about how to get the word out and what the galleria's financial goals are.
Take it from someone who's seen it first hand. Without curiosity, engagement, and support - nothing beautiful can last.
